We’ve been talking about your guitar recently, and I think you’re probably figuring out by now that there is quite a bit to know if you want to become REALLY good at this…
But that’s why we have these lessons! And today I want to cover the fret on your guitar.
Frets are strips of metal that cut the guitar in sections from top to bottom. The combination of strings and frets form a grid.
This grid covers the guitar neck and if you put your finger in between two frets, this allows you to play a note. The higher you place your finger on the fret; the higher the sound of the note.
One way of reading sheet music, without actually having to read sheet music is through “TAB”, which assigns a numerical value to the locations on your fret, thus making it much easier to begin playing (especially if you have no clue at all how to read that sheet music;-).
